"If what you need to know about finishing isn't there, then you don't need to know about it! ", Terry Daniel, Ellijay, GA
At last, the video presentation of my "Finishing Secrets" messages. These are the same "Secrets" that I have shared in print format through the AAW Journal, local Chapter newsletters and demonstrations, and the Internet. Many woodturners have come to rely on these "Secrets" to learn the basic techniques for finishing turned wood, or to improve the finishes on their woodturnings. Now you can SEE how it is done, through the video medium.
Everything is here, the surface preparation, the finishes, how the finishes are used on real turning projects, and several topics that are new on these videos. These are presented in a six (6) hour presentation on 3 DVD discs. The VHS video tape version of the "Secrets" will still be available.
New topics
Several new topics have been added to the video version of "Finishing Secrets". These include waxes as a finish and grain enhancement, a thorough presentation of the buffing wheel, and CA glue as a grain-sealer and as a finish. There is also a discussion of the properties of the different finishes and their affect on the surface of the wood.
